Norman J Barr Award
This vocational award was initiated in 1996 / 1997 to honour the name of the late Norman J Barr, Past President and committed Rotarian who passed away in 1994. An Award was made to a student in electronics at Chisholm Institute (Berwick) who is judged to be outstanding in a particular year. This award concluded in 2014 and Rotary Narre Warren wish to thank the Barr family and Chisholm TAFE for cooperation over the years
Robert Galbally – Guest Speaker – October 2014
The night at Clover Cottage Berwick was attended by 95 people and was a great success. Bob was a very entertaining speaker, we all had a great time and raised just over $3000 which will be distributed to local CFA and SES at a BBQ in December 2014. Many thanks to Bob Galbally for his generous nature and warm friendship that made the night possible.
Tonga 2009
A Rotary Club of Narre Warren project. 12 members of the Rotary Club of Narre Warren with help of the Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills and the Rotary Club of Dandenong East travelled to Tonga (at their own expense) to make structural improvements to a Primary School. Facilities provided: Bitumen assembly area, disabled access to classrooms, power points in all classrooms, painted exterior, refurbished library, water tank installation and security grills on computers rooms.
Memorial gates 2003
The memorial gates have a long history with the Rotary Club of Narre Warren. The gates now stand opposite the City of Casey offices and are used for the ANZAC day ceremonies
Berwick Highland Gathering
The Berwick Highland Gathering was run by the Rotary Club of Narre warren for 26 years with our last event in 2012. The main attraction on the day was the Pipe Band Competition. Pipe Bands from all over the state travelled to the Berwick Highland Gathering to compete in the competition. The event grew over the years to have many other displays for the public to enjoy some of the attractions were: The Scottish Heavy Games The Highland Dancing Displays The Block and White dog show (West Highland Terrier and Scottish Terrier) The flyball competition (Berwick Dog Obedience Club
